LONG TERM CARE 8

Individuals already licensed and selling, soliciting or negotiating long-term care insurance MUST complete a one-time eight hour training course BY DECEMBER 31, 2007. In addition, agents must complete ongoing training requirements of no less than four hours. These hours are not required in addition to the normal number of credit hours required for each agent.

THIS INTERACTIVE, ONLINE COURSE IS DESIGNED TO MEET THE DEPARTMENT'S REQUIREMENT FOR 8 HOURS OF TRAINING ON LONG-TERM CARE POLICIES AND STATE PARTNERSHIPS TO INTEGRATE PRIVATE INSURANCE COVERAGE WITH MEDICAID ELIGIBILITY RULES. THIS COURSE ADDRESSES THE FOLLOWING TOPICS: STATE, FEDERAL AND NAIC REGULATIONS CONCERNING STATE LTC PARTNERSHIP PLANS AND QUALIFIED LTC PARTNERSHIP POLICIES; LEVELS OF LTC CARE; PROVIDERS OF LTC; POLICY DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS FOR PARTNERSHIP AND NON-PARTNERSHIP-QUALIFIED CONTRACTS; SOURCES OF FINANCING FOR LTC NEEEDS, INCLUDING SELF-FUNDING, GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS AND PRIVATE INSURANCE OPTIONS; THE NEED FOR INFLATION PROTECTION (TO PROTECT CONSUMER AND STATE GOVERNMENT BUDGETS); ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS AND DETERMINING SUITABILITY OF LTC CARE INSURANCE, AND LTC PARTNERSHIP POLICIES IN PARTICULAR.
